Disney Pulls Episode Featuring Transgender Character from Children’s Series
Disney reportedly pulled an episode from its children’s series “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.”
The episode would have featured a transgender athlete named “Brooklyn” who tells other characters that they are forced to play on a boys team at school.

Breitbart described the episode as follows: “Brooklyn then joins a girls volleyball team which prompts the villain of the episode to use a magical device to keep Brooklyn and the other characters locked up in a school locker room to prevent Brooklyn from playing with the girls. The episode then follows the heroes as they fight against the evil, trans-hating coach and his magic weapon.”
According to a report from Polygon, the decision to shelve the episode was “made more than a year ago and was not based on the result of recent U.S. elections.”
One of the show’s storyboard artists, Derrick Malik Johnson, said in a since-deleted post on the social media platform Bluesky that the project was shelved “because of which party that won the recent election.
“It breaks my heart knowing this impactful and amazing [episode] is now about to be [considered] a lost media episode,” Johnson wrote, according to Gizmodo.
