‘Doomsday’ Cult Author Chad Daybell Convicted in Triple-Murder Case

The tragic saga of “cult mom” Lori Vallow and her doomsday-writing husband Chad Daybell is slowly winding to a close as Daybell has been convicted of three counts of murder and all other counts including insurance fraud, grand theft and conspiracy charges.

A jury has found Daybell, and previously Vallow, responsible for the murders of Vallow’s two children, Joshua “JJ” Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ryan, 16, as well as Daybell’s first wife, Tammy.

As reported by NBC News, Daybell was “an Idaho doomsday author who prosecutors say became obsessed with apocalyptic beliefs and labeled people as ‘zombies’ and ‘dark spirits,'” and was found guilty May 30, in the deaths of his first wife and current wife’s two youngest children.

Due to the heinous nature of these crimes, the prosecution has announced that they are going to seek the death penalty for Daybell. Vallow was convicted in March and has been sentenced to multiple life sentences in prison without the possibility of parole.

District Judge Steven W. Boyce told the jury that prior to their consideration of the death penalty, the prosecution must prove “at least one statutory aggravating circumstance beyond a reasonable doubt.”

This sad case demonstrates the power, and evil, of spiritual forces in the world. Vallow and Daybell are absolutely responsible for their disgusting actions, but the things they were immersing themselves in, their ungodly belief system loosely based on Mormonism, ensured they were spiritually manipulated into believing outrageous lies from the pits of hell.

Who else but satanic forces would convince the couple that they were to lead the 144,000 from the book of Revelation during the end times?

“Their spouses, Lori’s own children and anyone who opposed them were labeled sometimes as dark spirits or even zombies,” Madison County Prosecutor Rob Wood says.

The tragedy of the Daybell/Vallow family should serve as a spiritual warning to anyone who reads of it. This is why Paul is so adamant about daily prayer and the equipping of the full armor of God for the spiritual warfare that we are to engage in (Eph. 6:10-20).
