Dr. Don Colbert, a renowned physician and man of deep faith, has spent decades uncovering the powerful connection between spiritual well-being and physical health. In a new interview with Deep Believer’s Jennifer Bagnaschi, Colbert is sharing how you can dig up chronic diseases and illnesses in ways you never thought possible.

The Hidden Roots of Disease

Many of the chronic illnesses plaguing believers today stem from stress, poor diet and spiritual imbalance. Dr. Colbert warns that unforgiveness, bitterness and resentment create a breeding ground for disease, leading to conditions such as fibromyalgia, autoimmune disorders and heart disease. He has witnessed firsthand how patients have experienced miraculous recoveries simply by releasing past hurts and walking in love. Citing Matthew 18, he explains that holding onto offense invites torment—both spiritually and physically.

“The tormentors or torturers are the demonic,” Colbert says. “Entities that literally oppress us and cause diseases, horrible diseases. Depression, thoughts anxiety, fibromyalgia, crippling arthritis, cancer, tormenting diseases…”

The Power of Thought and Worship

Negativity is more than just a bad habit—it’s a health hazard. According to Dr. Colbert, pessimism and negative thinking increase stress hormones, weakening the immune system and accelerating aging. He urges believers to take every thought captive, as 2 Corinthians 10:5 instructs, and replace fearful or destructive thoughts with God’s promises. Worship, he emphasizes, is one of the most powerful tools for healing. Immersing oneself in praise and prayer rewires the brain, lifts depression and ushers in God’s presence, bringing supernatural peace and restoration.

“When you have pessimism, you can’t have hope [and] you can’t have expectancy. Without expectancy, you can’t have faith. Faith works by love and love never fails,” Colbert says.

Faith-Based Nutrition and Lifestyle

Dr. Colbert also challenges believers to honor their bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit by making wise dietary choices. He recommends the Daniel Diet, rich in whole foods and free of GMOs, processed sugar and artificial ingredients. He highlights the benefits of high-quality olive oil, known for supporting brain and liver function. Alcohol, he warns, is one of the most destructive substances, contributing to numerous health conditions. Instead, he encourages fasting, proper hydration and natural remedies to sustain longevity and vitality.
