‘Grandfather of AI’ Gives Chilling End-Times Warning
We just may be on the cusp of the world’s end.
In an interview with CBS News, physics Nobel Prize winner Geoffrey Hinton gave a shocking warning that artificial intelligence just may be close to surpassing human capacities at a dangerous level. Dubbed the “Grandfather of AI,” Hinton sees artificial intelligence dramatically shifting the future of education, medicine and even the climate.
“The best way to understand it emotionally is we are like somebody who has this really cute tiger cub…Unless you can be very sure that it’s not gonna want to kill you when it’s grown up, you should worry,” Hinton says.

He thinks there is a real chance, perhaps as high as 10 to 20%, that AI will grab societal control out of the hands of human beings.

“People haven’t got it yet, people haven’t understood what’s coming,” he says.
Hinton believes that AI corporations should spend around a third of their available resources toward safety research. However, he notes that the largest AI companies are instead lobbying for less regulation.
So, what should Christians do with this information?
Believers cannot ignore the prophetic implications of such a dire warning. When one of the world’s leading scientists expresses concern that artificial intelligence may soon overtake human control—with the potential to dismantle societal order—we must pay attention. This is more than just a technological tipping point; it is a spiritual one. Scripture tells us that in the last days, knowledge will increase (Dan. 12:4), and what we are seeing could very well be the fulfillment of that prophecy.
But rather than panic, Christians must respond to this moment with vigilance, discerning the signs of the times and living with holy clarity. The world is racing toward what looks like a technological Tower of Babel—where mankind seeks to redefine power, intelligence and even godliness apart from the Creator.

Jesus Himself warned that before His return, there would be unprecedented deception and turmoil (Matt. 24). If AI has the potential to confuse, control and even manipulate human thought, behavior and reality, then the church must be anchored in truth more than ever before.
