Unemployment line

The U.S. Census Bureau reports the number of Americans in poverty hasn’t improved for the sixth straight year.

Last year, it was 15 percent, or about 46.5 million people, which is not statistically different from 2011.

In 2012, the unemployment rate averaged 8.1 percent. The median household income for the past two years has been $51,000.
