Most Americans are Anxious About Money—Here’s What Scripture Has to Say
More and more Americans are facing financial woes with the latest report by CNBC showing that almost 7 in 10 feel anxious and depressed about their finances. It’s also key to note that earning more money doesn’t necessarily take away this stress either. So, how can Christians facing this hardship rely on the Word of God?

The most important treasures we have are not of this world.
The greatest gifts we can have are not ones that can be bought off of a shelf. Matthew 6:19-21 reads:
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroy and where thieves do not break in nor steal, for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Ultimately, this is why Jesus then says that we cannot serve God and money. We cannot put our trust into the world, but in the One who made it.
Jesus promises to provide everything we need.
The Lord points out in Matthew 6:25-27 that we are not to worry about what we will eat, drink or wear. Just as He provides nutrition daily for the birds, He will also provide all our needs.
Therefore, I say to you, take no thought about your life, what you will eat, or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they do not sow, nor do they reap, nor gather into barns. Yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they? Who among you by taking thought can add a cubit to his stature?

Godly blessing will follow those who walk in covenant with the Lord.
It is God’s desire to bless His people that walk closely with Him, in the same way that He blessed Abraham and turned him into a great and mighty nation. This means that we trust in Him and His direction with our finances and decisions.
In a short on YouTube, Kap Chatfield explains how this concept of biblical prosperity is a way of shifting our mindset to focus on Christ for all areas of life.

Quoting Deuteronomy 8:18, Chatfield reads: “And you shall remember the Lord Your God. For it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”
In a world gripped by financial fear, the peace that surpasses understanding can only be found in trusting God’s promises. While the economy may shift and earthly resources may falter, God remains steadfast. For believers, true security is not found in wealth, but in walking closely with the One who owns it all.
