Sean “Diddy” Combs, the 55-year-old music mogul, has been scheduled to receive his federal sentence on October 3, 2025, following a conviction on two counts of transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution. A Manhattan jury rendered its verdict on July 2, after hearing testimony involving former partners Cassie Ventura and another woman identified as “Jane.”

Combs was acquitted of the more severe charges of sex trafficking and racketeering—charges that could have carried life sentences. However, the two prostitution-related convictions carry a maximum of 10 years per count. Federal sentencing guidelines, taking all factors into account, recommend 51 to 63 months, while defense attorneys argue for a lighter sentence of roughly 21 to 27 months—potentially reduced further by time served.

His bid for release on bail until sentencing was denied. Judge Arun Subramanian cited concerns over Combs’s past violence and his risk to witnesses as reasons to keep him detained. Prosecutors also highlighted testimony that Combs had physically assaulted “Jane” in June 2024.

In the lead-up to sentencing, federal prosecutors are compiling a “summary of offense conduct” that may include Combs’s admitted drug and violence-related behaviors—even those tied to counts from which he was acquitted—as allowed under federal sentencing law.

Combs remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he has been held since his arrest in September 2024. His legal team is expected to file sentencing recommendations by late September.
