Pastor in Jerusalem Issues Urgent Message Amid Wildfires
Pastor Greg Locke is in Jerusalem, providing an update on the outbreak of the recent fires that hit the area.
“I am on the ground here in Jerusalem, [and] wanted to give a quick update,” Locke says. “I’ve made a very, very quick trip. Just a two-day turnaround here to Jerusalem because of the massive wildfires that they have been experiencing. And I’m meeting with several people. We came through a number of the areas where it had just been scorched earth.”

Locke says that he sees where God has been gracious, and that the devastation could have been much worse. However, he does note that it is “bad in a lot of areas.”
“Hundreds and hundreds of homes had to be evacuated, but praise be unto the Lord no deaths reported that we know of. A lot of abandoned cars on the highway. They’ve been getting that cleaned up, and not just the military and the government in Israel, but a good number of surrounding countries have come in with vehicles and airplanes and helped them extinguish the fires,” Locke says.
Locke further says that there are still some smaller fires happening in the remote wilderness areas, but the city itself has calmed down.
“A lot of rescue operations have taken place over the last couple of days, but again, the Lord be praised,” Locke says.
The Global Vision Bible Church pastor says he decided to get on a flight for this short trip after the Holy Spirit led him to do so, that way he could pray in person for the people of Israel, demonstrating the true peace of God.
“What a great opportunity to show the love of Jesus,” Locke says. “Why wouldn’t I do that?”
