Pete Hegseth Begins Monthly Prayer Meeting at the Pentagon: ‘This is Precisely Where I Need to Be’
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is helping America get back to the basics with the power of prayer.
Hegseth held the prayer meeting for the Pentagon staff, which he says he plans to hold each month.
“This is precisely where I need to be,” says Hegseth. “And I think exactly where we need to be as a nation, at this moment, in prayer, on bended knee, recognizing the providence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Hegseth points out that what starts at the Pentagon doesn’t stay at the Pentagon. Instead, it fans out wider flames throughout the United States.
“There are so many things we do in this building and across this nation with such great consequence it’s almost unfathomable,” he says. “…knowing there’s an Author in heaven overseeing all of this, who has underwritten all of it for us on the cross gives me the strength to proceed…”
Hegseth further remarked that we must appeal to the Lord for the wisdom, strength and courage necessary to carry out all that God has for our nation.
“This is something we plan to do on a monthly basis, on a voluntary basis,” says Hegseth. “Pausing and creating that routine of prayer, of humility, of seeking His grace and His guidance…”
Hegseth compared this to George Washington and how he turned to the Lord for guidance when it was needed before starting his prayer.
“King Jesus, we come humbly before You, seeking Your face, seeking Your grace, in humble obedience to Your Law and to Your Word. We came as sinners only by that grace, seeking Your providence in our lives and in our nation. Lord God, we ask for the wisdom to see what is right…and the courage to do what is right.”

These new Pentagon meetings are a clear sign that revival isn’t coming to America’s government, but that it is already here, and the Holy Spirit is willing to pour Himself out on our country.
