Pete Hegseth Pentagon Briefing on Iran: ‘We Give Glory to God’
In a dramatic escalation of tensions in the Middle East, the Pentagon has confirmed that the United States executed a sweeping, high-precision strike against three of Iran’s most critical nuclear sites. The operation, dubbed “Midnight Hammer,” was carried out under the direct order of President Donald J. Trump and involved the largest deployment of B2 Spirit stealth bombers in U.S. history.
During the live Pentagon briefing, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine made it clear: this was no ordinary military maneuver. It was a bold, calculated show of American strength and technological superiority—one intended to cripple Iran’s nuclear ambitions and restore deterrence.

“This operation was designed to severely degrade Iran’s nuclear weapons infrastructure. It was planned and executed across multiple domains and theaters with coordination that reflects our ability to project power globally with speed and precision at the time and place of our nation’s choosing,” Caine said. “This was a highly classified mission with very few people in Washington knowing the timing or nature of this plan.”
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth also gave thanks to all involved in the mission and gave glory to God.
“I want to give congratulations to our Commander-in-Chief, it was an honor to watch him lead last night and throughout. To our great American warriors on this successful operation: God bless our troops, God bless America and we give glory to God for His providence and continue to ask for His protection,” Hegseth said.
The mission involved seven B2 bombers, each flying an 18-hour round trip from the continental U.S., in what officials described as a complex and highly secretive operation. The aircraft were supported by refuelers, cyber operators, a U.S. submarine launching more than two dozen Tomahawk missiles and various support aircraft. The strike marked the first-ever operational use of the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), a 30,000-pound bunker-busting bomb.
The targets—Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan—are among Iran’s most fortified and strategically valuable nuclear facilities. Between 6:40 p.m. and 7:05 p.m. Eastern Time, the B2s dropped 14 MOPs, causing what initial assessments describe as “extremely severe damage.”
Officials confirmed that no U.S. aircraft were fired upon during the operation. Iran’s radar and air defense systems were effectively blinded, allowing the strike package to enter and exit undetected.
It was reiterated that President Trump’s message for Iran to “be wise” and “to listen” truly means that the United States does not seek war, but will respond with great force if American security and allies like Israel are threatened. The administration made clear that this strike was not about regime change, but about neutralizing a direct and escalating threat.
Despite intelligence reports earlier this year suggesting Iran had not resumed building a nuclear weapon, the White House says new intelligence indicated otherwise—prompting swift action.
The operation has sent a strong message not only to Iran but to potential allies of Tehran such as North Korea and China, as concerns grow over global cooperation among adversarial powers. The Pentagon confirmed that force protection has been elevated across the region, and U.S. forces remain ready to respond to any retaliation.
As the mission concluded and service members are returning home, officials expressed pride in the precision, discipline and power displayed. Hegseth also stated that he hopes Iran will “take the path of negotiated peace.”

This briefing comes as an official Yemeni Houthi leader stated that Iran’s allies would come to its defense.
According to the Jerusalem Post, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps took to social media where they wrote, “Now the war has begun for us.” They further denied that the strikes took place, stating that Trump’s comments are “merely a media show” before eventually confirming the attacks on the nuclear facilities.
Now, a Yemeni Houthi official is backing Iranian allies stating that a response from Iran will only take “a matter of time.”
Continue to lift up the Middle East, America and nations all across the world in prayer, along with wise counsel and discernment for our leaders.
