President Trump Champions Faith and Freedom at National Prayer Breakfast
At this year’s National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., President Donald Trump addressed a packed room, emphasizing the importance of faith, religious freedom and America’s divine destiny. With his signature style, Trump blended humor and bold declarations, making it clear that he intends to bring religion “back stronger, bigger, better than ever before.”
Faith Front and Center
Opening his remarks with gratitude, Trump thanked the thousands of believers gathered from around the world. He underscored the significance of the event, noting, “This is a beautiful tradition that started with President Eisenhower in 1953, and I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” Despite logistical suggestions to attend virtually, Trump insisted on being there in person: “They told me I could do it via Skype, and I said, ‘What are we doing? I’m going to be there. It’s not that far.'”

A Renewed Focus on Religious Liberty
Trump didn’t shy away from addressing what he perceives as recent threats to religious freedom. “Religion… has suffered greatly over the last few years, but it’s coming back strong,” he asserted. Announcing the creation of a new Presidential Commission on Religious Liberty, Trump vowed, “It’s going to be a very big deal, which will work tirelessly to uphold this most fundamental right.”
In a striking move, Trump also introduced an executive order to combat anti-Christian bias. “The mission of this task force will be to immediately halt all forms of anti-Christian targeting and discrimination within the federal government,” he said, emphasizing his commitment to protecting faith in all aspects of American life.
Economic Revival and National Pride
Trump’s speech wasn’t limited to religious matters. He celebrated his administration’s achievements, claiming, “Our economy is roaring back to life, optimism is soaring, hope is returning and we have brought back the words ‘common sense’ to our government.” He highlighted his efforts to lower oil prices, stating, “We’re going to have more liquid gold coming out of the ground than anybody’s ever seen before.”
Reflecting on his election victory, Trump declared, “We won by a massive majority, won all seven swing states, we won the popular vote by millions and millions of people. We have a mandate.” He tied his political success to divine providence, remarking, “God works in very strange ways.”
International Affairs and Personal Stories
Trump also touched on global conflicts and his efforts toward peace, noting, “Just days before taking office, my team negotiated a breakthrough ceasefire agreement to stop the bloodshed in the Middle East.” He introduced survivors of the Oct. 7, attacks by Hamas, emphasizing their strength and faith: “For 245 harrowing days, Noa [Argamani] showed unwavering strength and courage and faith as she endured the unendurable.”
A Nation Under God
Ending his address, Trump reiterated his commitment to restoring America’s faith-based identity. “Throughout history, those who have sought control and domination over others have always tried to cut the people off from their connection to their Creator,” he said. “But with God, the Scripture tells us, all things are possible.”
In classic Trump fashion, he left the audience with a promise and a blessing: “Together, we will make America stronger and prouder, safer, freer, greater and more faithful to our God than ever before. God bless you all, and God bless America.”
