Prophetic Word Fulfilled? Chris Reed’s Vision and the Death of Jimmy Carter
On Jan. 21, 2023, during an appearance on “The Lance Wallnau Show,” Chris Reed of Chris Reed Ministries unveiled a prophetic word that he had not shared publicly until that moment. Now, with the recent passing of former President Jimmy Carter and plans for his state funeral on Jan. 9, 2024, Reed’s vision has sparked renewed interest among believers seeking to understand its implications.
Reed began his revelation by stating, “I’ve shared this with my team. This is the first time I’ve shared this publicly, so this is a new prophecy. I shared this with Rick [Joyner], I shared this with others.” According to Reed, the vision came to him in a supernatural encounter with the Lord in the second week of January 2023.

“I was taken into the Capitol rotunda in Washington, D.C.,” he recounted, emphasizing that this was not a physical experience but a “transvision.” The rotunda, famously a place where prominent political figures lie in state after their deaths, became the setting for a significant scene.
“It was a funeral, and I walked up and saw the casket,” Reed described. As he approached, he identified the individual lying in the casket: Jimmy Carter. “You know, it’s natural causes,” Reed clarified, adding that Carter’s advanced age made such an event unsurprising.
However, it was not the mere fact of Carter’s passing that stood out but a detail Reed saw at the end of the casket that made the vision noteworthy. “There was a note that was on the casket, and it said: ‘A time marker.’” He explained the note’s prophetic significance: “The natural death of Jimmy Carter will be a signpost for the death of the Joe Biden administration.”
Now, almost a year after Reed’s revelation, Jimmy Carter’s death at the age of 100 has brought his vision into focus.
Since Reed first had the vision, Donald Trump has defeated Joe Biden in the 2024 election, signaling what many view as the end of Biden’s political career. This victory was historic, as Trump—once counted out by many after his loss in 2020—made an unprecedented comeback to reclaim the presidency.
