The Democrats’ Identity Crisis Isn’t Just Political, It’s Spiritual
By now, it’s no secret that the Democratic Party is in turmoil. And if the headlines of the past few weeks tell us anything, it’s that all they seem to have left is outrage and protest.
As The Gateway Pundit rightly put it, “they have no message, no leader, and no strategy.” But underneath the surface-level chaos, there’s a deeper issue at play, one that cuts to the heart of their identity: their rejection of God.

Let’s be honest. This crisis didn’t start a few months ago with a bad election cycle. It’s been building for years. Decades, even. Back in 2012, the Democratic Party made headlines when they literally removed God from their official platform. That wasn’t just a political move—it was a spiritual declaration. And now? They’re reaping the consequences.
Even liberal outlets like Axios are admitting that the party is unraveling.

One segment of their recent coverage quotes Democratic strategist David Shor, who observed: “Young people have gone from being the most progressive generation… to becoming potentially the most conservative generation that we’ve experienced maybe in 50 to 60 years.”
That’s not just a political shift—it’s a spiritual wake-up call.
When a nation, a party or a people turn their backs on God, Scripture is crystal clear about what follows. Romans 1:28 (MEV) says:
“And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not proper.”
We’re seeing this played out in real-time. The Democratic Party has embraced chaos in the streets over conviction in the heart. They’ve elevated ideology above truth. And the results are evident: loss of support among working-class voters, immigrants and even young people who are fed up with empty promises and spiritual voids.
Psalm 9:17 (MEV) offers a sober reminder:
“The wicked shall be turned to Sheol, and all the nations that forget God.”
It’s no wonder the Democratic Party is splintering. When you abandon the very foundation of truth, you lose your ability to lead. The American people—especially the younger generation—are hungry for purpose, stability and truth. And it turns out, they’re starting to look elsewhere for it.
The Democrats’ problem isn’t just about votes. It’s about values. And until they return to acknowledging God, no amount of political rebranding will fix the hole in their foundation.
