Supreme Court Takes Up Hot Topic of Gender-Altering Procedures on Children

The Supreme Court jumped into the heated debate over experimental transgender procedures on children Monday, agreeing to hear the case as the Biden administration seeks to block state bans on gender-altering attempts.

Twenty-five states have passed bans on gender-altering procedures and several are on hold due to litigation. The case before the high court involves a Tennessee law that prohibits transgender-identifying minors from receiving puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and invasive surgeries.

The Biden administration and some parents claim the laws prohibit what they call “life-saving treatment.”

7 Reasons Christian Leaders Fail

In light of what’s going on with Robert Morris and Tony Evans, I decided to re-release this article so we can all focus on finishing strong.

Why do Christian leaders fall? They fall for the same reason all Christians fall. Each of us is drawn away by our own evil desires and enticed. When these desires are acted upon, they lead to sin (see James 1:14-15). Sin has a life cycle—it either grows or withers depending on whether we feed or starve it. John Owen, the prolific Puritan author, wrote, “Be killing sin, or sin will be killing you.”

Consider the following ways sin gains entrance to our lives:

1. “It will never happen to me.” First Corinthians 10:12 reminds us that if we think that we are standing firm, we should be careful that we don’t fall. “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall” (Prov. 16:18, ESV). Pride says, “I’ve never committed adultery. It will never happen to me.” Humility says, “By the grace of God, I haven’t, but I can.”

Rick Warren Unloads on Robert Morris Over Sexual Abuse

The fallout continues after Robert Morris resigned from Gateway Church over furor following allegations he molested a 12-year-old girl in the 1980s.

Prominent Christian author and retired pastor Rick Warren isn’t mincing words in his condemnation of the reports about Morris. Warren posted to X saying, “I’m angry & disgusted to hear of Robert Morris’ sexual abuse of a child & heartbroken for Cindy Clemishire. To sexually use a 12 yr old child, then continue it for yrs, is not merely an ‘inappropriate relationship.’ It’s a crime. Sexual child abuse is an evil punishable by law. One can’t just confess when caught & move on with no consequences.”

Daystar Television Network announced this week that it had removed all of Morris’ programming from its network, with Gateway Church elders separately launching an investigation into the claims against their former leader.

Prophetic Voice Laments Harm Caused by Robert Morris Sexual Abuse Scandal

The news of sexual abuse by now-former pastor of Gateway Church Robert Morris against a 12-year-old girl has shocked the church worldwide.

One prophetic voice, Troy Black, spoke about a spiritual attack being waged against the church over a year ago, but says that it in no way excuses the sins committed by Morris:

I am deeply saddened by the news about Pastor Morris. My heart goes out to the victim and anyone who has been hurt by his actions. Though I do believe the prophetic word I heard over a year ago potentially applies to the current situation, it does not in any way excuse or cover past sin. Although Jesus’ blood provides forgiveness for sin for all who repent and turn to Him for salvation, there are still very real consequences for sins in this life. So, I don’t believe God is glossing over the sin that occurred. Instead, I believe that prophetic word indicates that God sees the members and followers of Gateway Church right where they are and that He has strength and encouragement specifically for them even through this heartache. I believe He knew exactly what they would be walking through right now. As the body of Christ, we need to pray for and encourage them in any way we can.
