The message described Pentecost as the descent of the Holy Spirit empowering the apostles. The statement quoted Acts 2:38, which reads, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

“Equipped with the courage, clarity and grace of Almighty God, in the years that followed, the apostles went on to withstand tremendous danger to bring hearts, minds and souls to the Christian faith—marking the beginning of the church, against which even the evils of hell shall not prevail,” Trump added. “More than 2,000 years later, the Holy Spirit continues to descend upon all those who proclaim Christ’s name—enabling them to spread the Gospel.”
