ACLJ Files Freedom of Information Act Requests Regarding Rep. Eric Swalwell’s Connection With Chinese Communist Spy

A politician has a connection with a foreign female spy. It sounds like a political thriller. But it’s not fiction. Rep. Eric Swalwell may have placed our national security at risk.

At American Center for Law and Justice, we have taken action to shine a spotlight on Swalwell’s connection with a Chinese Communist spy and anyone else who had knowledge of it.

As we show in this report, Swalwell, one of the lead antagonists in the Russia hoax and impeachment of President Donald J. Trump, is now caught up in a scandal involving an apparent Chinese spy. That agent not only has ties to the Chinese Communist Party; she actually works for the Chinese Communist Party’s intelligence department.

It was Swalwell who accused Trump of betraying America and of being a Russian agent, telling the mainstream media: “Donald Trump works on Russia’s behalf.” He also accused the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., of meeting with a Russian spy.

Now there is direct evidence of the misdeeds actually being Swalwell’s. The special counsel assigned to the case found there was no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Swalwell didn’t just meet with a Chinese agent once. He had a connection with the Chinese Communist spy at the center of this scandal—named Christine Fang, or Fang Fang. Fang was a fundraiser for Swalwell, as well. She was actually a fundraising bundler for his campaigns—as a college student.

How did that not raise suspicion?

The hypocrisy is staggering. Swalwell has garnished a reputation for being among the nastiest, most condescending participants in the whole impeachment process. He was difficult on a host of issues, not the least of which was impeachment.

Not only did Swalwell have a connection with a Chinese agent, but perhaps more troubling, Fang reportedly managed to insert at least one “intern” into Swalwell’s office. What were these people hearing? And who were they reporting back to?

Fang was the subject of a 2015 FBI probe into Chinese spying which gave them reason to be concerned about Fang’s connection with Swalwell. According to reports: “Amid a widening counterintelligence probe, federal investigators became so alarmed by Fang’s behavior and activities that around 2015 they alerted Swalwell to their concerns—giving him what is known as a defensive briefing.”

It’s also worth noting that Fang, the so-called “college student,” reportedly fled the United States unexpectedly once the FBI began its investigation.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has admitted to knowing of Swalwell’s association with Fang but has thus far refused to go too deep into specifics. Pelosi has essentially brushed off all accusations and complaints against Swalwell, saying, “I don’t have any concern about Mr. Swalwell.”

Swalwell may have endangered our national security and revealed sensitive intelligence to a foreign spy, and Speaker Pelosi doesn’t have any concerns?

We at the ACLJ have numerous, very serious concerns—defending U.S. national security from foreign spies for one. We have no intention of letting Speaker Pelosi, Rep. Swalwell, or any of their other colleagues on the left sweep this under the rug. To do so could be a betrayal of the American people.

For starters, Swalwell must be removed from the House Intelligence Committee. His presence is now a liability to our national security.

Our legal team has just submitted four Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to the FBI, State Department, Office of the Director of National Intelligence and National Security Agency (NSA).

As you will see, this situation involved a familiar cast of characters whose names seem to pop up with regularity where there are issues of impropriety and corruption.

The first FOIA, sent to the FBI, requested:

“All records, communications or briefings created, generated, forwarded, transmitted, sent, shared, saved, received or reviewed by James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Christopher Wray, Robert Mueller or any Deputy Director of the FBI, including by utilizing any alias, referencing, connected to or regarding in any way Christine Fang (or Fang Fang or Fang) or Rep. Eric Swalwell.”

The FOIA to the State Department asked for:

“All records, communications or briefings created, generated, forwarded, transmitted, sent, shared, saved, received or reviewed by Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Susan Rice, Cheryl Mills or Huma Abedin, including by utilizing any alias, referencing, connected to or regarding in any way Christine Fang (or Fang Fang or Fang) or Rep. Eric Swalwell.”

We will find out exactly what was going on between Swalwell and Fang as well as who knew about the connection and for how long.

Now more than ever, we must defend our constitutional republic. China would love nothing more than to infiltrate our government. That is why it is critical that we bring corruption and dangerous behavior to light and hold deep state actors accountable.

We’re taking action to fight back against the same deep state agencies we’ve been battling and beating for years. We can’t allow our national security to be put at risk. We won’t let it happen.{eoa}
