Amid rumors he had been placed on hospice, Bishop Eddie Long appeared on stage Sunday morning, clapping and dancing as he praised the Lord.
The gaunt-looking Long raised his hands while another worshipper declared, “We’ve got the victory,” on the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church stage.
Long’s assistant, elder April McLaughlin, did not respond to Charisma News’ request to comment on the hospice rumors but told other outlets, “No, not ever in hospice! Currently, not accepting calls but thanks for verifying the rumor.”
Earlier this year, video clips surfaced of a thin-looking Long. His drastic weight loss, the bishop said, was due to “medication that God gave you to feed your immune system.”
“I am recovering from a health challenge that I trust God to deliver me from. It is unrelated to the eating for life diet consisting of mostly raw vegetables that I am continuing as part of a holistic approach to good health,” Long said in a statement.
