Atheist Erects Satanic Upside-Down Cross Outside City Hall
A prominent atheist erected a massive satanic symbol outside a city hall in Florida.
Chaz Stevens—who is known for demanding governments allow him to pray to Satan during council meetings—erected a 6-foot upside-down cross outside the Hallandale City Hall, according to the SunSentinel.
The cross reads, “In Chaz we trust. All others pay cash.”
Stevens posted the cross on Tuesday and plans to leave it up through the end of the week, according to reports.
“It’s pretty tacky,” Stevens said. “We were going for tacky. It’s horrible looking. I love it.”
Christians are not kowtowing to his antics, though. According to a CBS affiliate, Deacon Hubert Jackson of Higher Vision Ministries posted a cross in the correct position to counter the satanist’s message.
“I do understand his point about keeping church and state separated,” Jackson said. “I also I would agree with him to this point that if one religion can have their symbols than another one should also. But what I do not disagree with is the satanic worship” (sic).
