BREAKING: At Least 2 Dead in Mississippi Walmart Shooting

A shooter killed at least two people and wounded an officer in a Walmart Tuesday morning, according to reports.

The gunman was also wounded in the shootout in Southaven, Mississippi. The suspect and the wounded officer were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Both are expected to recover.

One of the victims was found dead inside the Supercenter. Another was found dead in the parking lot. Both were allegedly Walmart employees.

Southaven Mayor Darren Musselwhite says the shooter was a “disgruntled employee” with “a personal grievance with his employer.”

“These people were doing the same thing that you and I do every day, showing up for work in an attempt to provide for their families, then became the victims of a senseless violent act,” says Southaven Police Chief Macon Moore.

The shooting comes only two days after a gunman opened fire in a California food festival, killing two children and one young man.

Saturday afternoon, another shooting broke out in a Walmart in Auburn, killing one man.
