CN Morning Rundown: Here’s How the Church Can Stop America’s Moral Decline

The Church Must Rise in Righteousness to Stop the Moral Decline of America

Today, I want to share some things that concern me. If you want to call it prophetic, you can. Take it in whatever way you want, but the pressure of this burden on my heart has been building for some time. I’m not saying what I’m about to say to stir up anger. Anger will take us exactly nowhere. I simply want to call for urgent prayer concerning some emerging realities.

Several years ago I was in a meeting of pastors gathered to hear a presentation by a man named Fred Markert, who at the time was working with Youth with a Mission as a researcher, if memory serves correctly. He’s a man who reads hundreds of books every year and studies historical trends and patterns that repeat era after era.

One repeated pattern of history he showed us is that in the historical record you see both monopolar and multipolar world power structures rising. A monopolar power structure is when one superpower dominates the world. A multipolar power structure is when several powers vie with each other for dominance. God prefers a monopolar power structure when that dominant power is good because when that exists, the bad guys are kept at bay and everyone prospers. Whenever a multipolar power structure develops, instability results, and war becomes inevitable.

Suspect in Capitol Attack Called Nation of Islam Founder ‘Jesus, the Messiah’ in Recent Facebook Posts

The suspect in the attack at the U.S. Capitol earlier today has been identified as 25-year-old Noah Green, a follower of Nation of Islam founder Louis Farrakhan, per multiple media outlets.

Green, a native of Indiana who more recently lived in Virginia, allegedly slammed his vehicle through a barricade and into two Capitol Police officers, killing Officer William “Billy” Evans and wounding the other.

A Facebook page identified as belonging to Green has been removed by the social media giant, but not before media outlets including Fox News gleaned information confirming his ties to Farrakhan. In posts there, Green let others know that “I am currently now unemployed after I left my job partly due to afflictions, but ultimately, in search of a spiritual journey.”

His page also featured several recent posting that referenced the teachings of the Nation of Islam, a Black separatist movement that diverges from the traditional teachings of Islam, and its leader, Louis Farrakhan.

Michael Brown: Obama the Oppressor?

“Obama is another oppressor.” Those are not my words. Instead, they are the words of activist Julie Contreras, who “works with a group that runs shelters for undocumented children at the U.S./Mexico border.”

Contreras joined with other Hispanic immigrants who opposed renaming two Chicago-area schools after Barack and Michelle Obama. Yes, they wanted the names changed, but not from one oppressor to another.

The schools are currently named Thomas Jefferson Middle School and Daniel Webster Middle School, but since Jefferson owned slaves and Webster supported slavery, those names must go.

Unfortunately, the Obamas are tainted too. “I will not be part of renaming a school after someone who did not and does not represent the undocumented community,” said District 60 school board member Edgar Castellanos, who came to America undocumented as a child. {eoa}
