LGBTQ Is Coming After the Youth in America

June is officially Gay Pride Month. The celebration of homosexuality, lesbianism and transgenderism “started with the Stonewall Uprising in New York City on June 28, 1969, [f]ollowing a police invasion of a gay club located in Greenwich Village.” Two trans people were credited with starting the riots that followed and creating an organization to help homeless LGBTQ youth. In 2016, former President Barack Obama named Stonewall Inn a national monument.

This year, Nickelodeon’s Blues Clues & You celebrated by unveiling a virtual pride parade. The event “featured an animated version of drag queen Nina West, a beloved RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant from season 11, singing to the melody of ‘The Ants Go Marching.’ [L]yrics have been changed to be very LGBTQ inclusive.” The song is 10 verses that correspond to a procession of 10 sexually confused identity groups, all coming together under a rainbow banner of “love.”

Jeff Younger, a father in Texas, has been fighting to protect his son from the harmful affects of hormone therapies and transgender surgery. In January 2020, a judge “granted Jeff and [ex-wife] Anne Georgulas joint management conservatorship over James Younger and his twin brother.” The article stated, “Younger and Georgulas have been embroiled in a legal battle about how to raise [James], who the mother says is a transgender girl.” Jeff opposes social transition and wants his son to live as a boy until he is old enough to make an informed decision about his identity.

Megachurch Pastor Rick Warren Announces Retirement From Saddleback

Megachurch pastor Rick Warren has announced his retirement after 42 years of leading Saddleback Church in Southern California. A search for his successor will be launched this week.

The well-known evangelical pastor and bestselling author told his congregation on Sunday that the search is not the end but the “beginning of the beginning,” The Orange County Register reported Monday.

Warren, 67, said he will continue to serve as lead pastor until a successor is in place. He said he will then step back into a less “visible position as founding pastor.”

Pentagon Upholds Ban on Flying Pride Flag at Military Installations

The Pentagon confirmed in a June 4 press briefing it will not allow the gay pride flag to wave at military facilities during Pride Month.

Current policy states only flags representing states and U.S. territories, military services, prisoners of war and missing in action and national flags of U.S. allies are allowed to fly over Department of Defense installations.

The Trump administration put into effect a policy that limits the flags to those listed in July 2020 when the Confederate flag was barred from being flown, though the policy does not specifically reference it. {eoa}
