Domestic Terrorist Groups Targeting Focus on the Family and Other Pro-Life, Christian Outlets

In the wake of the tragic shooting at Club Q in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the Focus on the Family building in Colorado Springs was vandalized on Thanksgiving Day.

The vandals spray painted graffiti on the sign at the front of the building saying, “Their blood is on your hands five lives taken.” There were also two pieces of metal left at the sign quoting 2 Corinthians 11:14-15.

The group Front Range Queer Community claimed responsibility for the attack, accusing FotF, and the city of Colorado Springs, of being “steeped in homophobia, transphobia and white supremacy.”

In contrast to the claims made against them, FotF president Jim Daly addressed the situation with support for those hurting from the recent shooting:

“We recognize the community is hurting in the aftermath of the reckless and violent actions of a very disturbed individual. This is a time for prayer, grieving and healing, not vandalism and the spreading of hate. Focus on the Family is privileged to be one of many organizations in our city positioned to help and support the needs of struggling individuals and families. The families of the five individuals killed in Saturday night’s senseless attack are in our prayers.

“We urge everyone to pray for peace and we also pray for the individual or group responsible for this mischievous and unwarranted defacing of our ministry’s property,” Daly continued.

While FotF had no affiliation with the shooter, it now finds itself in the crosshairs of domestic terrorists similar to the way threats were made against pro-life, Christian pregnancy centers after the reversal of Roe.

Yet organizations like FotF who are targeted by criminal groups should not expect any help from the Merrick Garland Department of Justice.

As of this article’s writing, there have been no arrests for the firebombing of multiple pro-life pregnancy centers by the group ‘Jane’s Revenge’ or any members of the group claiming responsibility for the vandalism at FotF.

The groups that are being arrested are pro-life demonstrators who stand outside abortion centers offering pregnant women other alternatives.

There has been a disturbing trend of DOJ agencies, such as the FBI, becoming weaponized against not only political opponents, but ideological ones as well. For Christians, this means having the spiritual fortitude and faith in the Lord to withstand the attacks of the enemy.

To date, under the Biden administration the FBI has raided former president Donald Trump’s Mar-A-Lago estate under the guise of searching for classified documents, confiscated My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell’s personal cell phone, arrested over a dozen pro-life demonstrators, and have failed to arrest a single person in connection to attacks on conservative, pro-life groups.

Focus on the Family’s Daly is correct in calling for prayer during this time, but believers must be prepared for the coming persecution.

The Bible does not tell Christians they won’t be persecuted, instead it prepares and empowers them to endure and overcome it.

The world hated Jesus (John 5:18) and in turn will hate His followers and persecute them (2 Tim. 3:12).

But the bars of a prison are not enough to stop God (Acts 16:16-40), nor can an oppressive government stop the gospel from being spread. Because of this, Christians must lean deeper into the Lord’s strength, trusting in Him during troubling times, and rest in the fact that God is in control of all things. {eoa}
