Jimmy Carter Teaching Sunday School Again After Fall That Fractured His Pelvis
Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter is back to teaching Sunday school less than two weeks after a fall that broke his pelvis.
He taught a Bible lesson on life after death this past Sunday, Nov. 3, at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia, reports AP.
Carter taught on the book of Job while sitting on a motorized lift chair. While talking about his 2015 cancer diagnosis, Carter said he not only believes in life after death but also is “at ease” with dying.
The 95-year-old spoke to more than 400 people, who filled the sanctuary to capacity and occupied the overflow rooms.
Carter fractured his pelvis on Oct. 21 when he fell in his home. He was hospitalized briefly and has been recovering at home. A few days before the Oct. 21 fall, he fell in a way that forced him to get stitches above his eye.
Carter has been outspoken about his Christian faith and has been teaching from the Bible since he was a teenager.
