John Eckhardt Reveals How Prophecy Unlocks Breakthrough and Miracles

Apostle John Eckhardt, overseer of Chicago-based Crusaders Ministries, believes all followers of Christ can exercise the prophetic gift. During a book launch party Monday evening, June 20, at Charisma Media, Eckhart brought his message of “prophetic activation.”

The live broadcast of Eckhardt’s teaching reached nearly 300,000 people with more than 10,000 views of the video.

Not only did the apostle teach, but he also led others in an exercise to stir up their own spiritual gift of prophecy.

“Sometimes we need people who will push us,” Eckhardt told the crowd of enthusiastic believers who met at Charisma Media. “God has given me an ability to push people.”

Eckhardt believes that the church has emphasized tongues without giving prophecy its due attention. But he challenged those present to embrace the gift meant to edify, exhort and comfort others.

Prophecy is “speaking by inspiration in your own language,” he said, adding that it is “a key to breakthrough and miracles.”

During the prophetic exercise, Eckhardt asked people to pair off with someone they didn’t know very well. He then walked them through a number of activation exercises. First, he asked them to believe God for one word for each other. Another of the other exercises was to ask for a word concerning how God would use the hands of the person each was paired with and yet another was to sing a prophetic song.

The apostle encouraged people to relax, joking that there should be no strange activity like “massage,” “jerking” or “eyeballs rolling into the back of your head.” To encourage those new to the prophetic, he joked that some believers in the room may be so experienced in the prophetic it’s like they’re “the fourth member of the Godhead.”

Eckhardt reminded everyone why speaking prophetic words is important.

“God has to use your voice,” he said.
