Missions.Me 1DayLA Event Kicks Off; Justin Bieber to Appear in Closing Concert
Los Angeles-based global ministry Missions.Me began its weeklong “1DayLA” event series of outreach and service to Los Angeles County July 18.
Asking the question “What can love do?”, Missions.Me’s 1DayLA will wrap up its seven days of beautification projects, back-to-school events, medical clinics and homeless assistance with a musical concert entitled “The Freedom Experience” at the recently opened SoFi Stadium, home of the National Football League’s Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers. Among headliners scheduled to appear Saturday July 24, are Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper, Tori Kelly and Jaden Smith, hosted by Jason Kennedy.
“The 1DayLA movement will unite and offer communities across Los Angeles, California hope and help,” Missions.Me said in a post on the ministry’s Facebook page.
Missions.Me hopes to unite as many as 20,000 volunteers from Southern California and the United States for service projects across Los Angeles County. The ministry and its army of volunteers “believe that love can change a city, inspire a nation and shift the national conversation from what divides us, to what brings us all together,” per the event website.
The 1DayLA week of events follows similar 1Nation1Day Missions.Me events dating back to 2013 in Honduras, Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Those outreach events mobilized over 8,000 international missionaries and reached more than 2.5 million people.
“We are living in a new missions era. The vision of 1Nation1Day is to unite the global church for the salvation and transformation of nations,” the group states on its website. The 1Nation1Day events grew out of Missions.Me’s original mission trips beginning in 2004, including 59 total trips over the next 15 years across Central America, South America, India, Nepal and Thailand. {eoa}
