Murder Trial for ‘Cult Mom’s’ Doomsday Husband Begins
‘Cult mom’ Lori Vallow’s husband, Chad Daybell’s trial is set to begin today.
Vallow and Daybell are accused of murdering Vallow’s two children, Joshua “J.J.” Vallow and Tylee Ryan. Joshua was seven years old and Tylee was 16.
AS ABC News reported, Vallow was convicted last year of the murder of her children from back in 2019. Daybell’s former wife, Tamara, also died right before he and Vallow married.
It was previously discovered Vallow’s now-deceased ex-husband, Charles Vallow, sent messages to Lori that discussed how she had ruined him, stating, “You have destroyed me. I have never been lower in life,” Charles wrote.
Charles also discovered that Lori wrote a letter to Daybell in his name, asking him to help ghostwrite a book.
“I’m willing to pay you well to help me get this book into shape as my ghostwriter,” Vallow wrote to Daybell. The letter led to the uncovering of Vallow and Daybell’s affair.

While this twisted story is egregiously complex, the dark spiritual side of it is heartbreaking. Daybell and Vallow used religion as a reason to justify their actions. As Charisma News reported, Vallow believed “people would become zombie-like entities and need to have their souls released from their physical form.”
Vallow also believed she was part of the 144,000 who would be taken to heaven at Christ’s Second Coming and that she had supernatural abilities. Vallow’s beliefs hinged onto Daybell’s, who took Mormon teachings and believed he had the capacity to tell the difference between good and evil spirits.
Now as Daybell’s trial comes, he could face the death penalty if found guilty. Vallow is spending the rest of her life in prison for the murders of her children.
This trial is a reminder of how evil and sinful the human heart truly can be. Involving ourselves in demonic beliefs, cults and practices really can lead people into doing the worst possible actions that almost seem impossible. It’s a reminder that God has called us to be vessels of His light, not of darkness. {eoa}
