On Viral Video, AOC Makes Feeble Attempt to Justify Abortion Through Woke-Friendly ‘Religious’ Talk

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez—better known as AOC—posted a video last week exposing her blatant intolerance of Christianity and narcissistic opposition to biblical truth about the value of life from conception. She clumsily attempts to justify abortion by claiming certain religious “faiths” encourage and approve of killing unborn babies.

“For people who say, ‘Oh, but you’re harming a life. I believe this is life.’ Well, some religions don’t. So how about that?” she says defiantly on the video, which has gone viral. “Our Jewish brothers and sisters, they are able to have an abortion according to their faith.”

AOC spews woke statements regarding the definition of life, defying scientific evidence that a human being grows within the womb of a woman, as plainly seen through 21st-century imaging technology that didn’t exist when a nine-person court legalized abortion in 1973.

Ironically, AOC criticizes genuine Christians for using their faith as a core reason for being pro-life yet then proceeds to use religious-sounding rhetoric to try to justify her pro-killing-of-unborn-babies stance. Whether she is aware of it or not, her argument illustrates that the abortion issue is a spiritual battle, not a faulty “health care” battle or a mischaracterized “women’s rights” battle.

“You know, there are so many faiths that do not have the same definition of life as fundamentalist Christians. What about their rights? What about their rights to exercise their faith? It is ridiculous. It is theocratic. It is authoritarian. It is wrong,” AOC concludes.

AOC—the same person who could not accurately name the three branches of the U.S. federal government in a 2018 public forum—is making a “theocratic” argument herself, using liberal-leaning religious rhetoric to attack genuine, pro-life Christians who are choosing to follow the Lord’s way and push back against the darkness of the devil’s way.

The premise of AOC’s propaganda is based on a secular humanist religion that openly and defiantly embraces death, selfishness, narcissism and the acceptance of the harmful, long-term effects of abortion on the mental health of women. The issue is more complex than this Democrat extremist congresswoman is portraying it.

What AOC does not seem to recognize is that institutionalized religions have been infiltrated by left-wing activists for decades with the specific aim to rewrite truth about when life begins. Spirit-filled Christians are already suspicious of such bias and see reality through spiritual discernment and a biblical lens.

These activists, who strikingly resemble Pharisees of ancient times, don’t recognize Jesus Christ as God, the truth of the Bible or the real presence of the Holy Spirit in a fallen, sinful world, coloring their conclusions.

USA Today reported in a 2019 article, “While some Orthodox rabbis have denounced abortion, within Jewish communities there’s considerable support for keeping it legal. Studies from the Pew Research Center show that Jews overwhelmingly (83%) support abortion rights. The National Council of Jewish Women, a 126-year-old organization that helped establish some of the first birth control clinics across the country, considers reproductive rights a cornerstone issue.”

The issue is not one of battling religious “faiths.” It is more of an issue of truth and what reality looks like when seen without the fog of pharisaical, narcissistic self-centeredness.

The humanistic way AOC defines the issue doesn’t actually require “faith” at all, doesn’t require an admission of breaking God’s laws or asking the Holy Spirit for revelatory knowledge. She has turned into a mouthpiece for virtually everything that opposes a biblical worldview, while at the same time also circulating outside the bounds of common sense.
