Pastor Gunned Down in Cold Blood Outside Her Car
The 41-year-old pastor approached her car, preparing for her day as a school aide, when a gunman stalked toward her.
He pulled the trigger, and Latrina Ashburne lost her life on this earth.
“This is the woman you want as your neighbor, the woman you want in your community,” police spokesman T.J. Smith told The Baltimore Sun. “And some coward guns her down at 7:30 in the morning.”
Ashburne was the associate pastor at Kingdom Restoration Center where her uncle, Christian Hall, served as senior pastor.
“Growing up, she was very quiet,” Hall told The Baltimore Sun. But she “broke out of her shell once she became a minister. She was a powerful preacher.”
Police released photos of the suspect to gain citizen assistance.
“It’s hard, it’s hard, because for someone to just take a life, and someone in the community, a law abiding upstanding citizen in the community, we just don’t understand why,” Hall said.
He said his niece considered herself a prayer warrior and ready to minister at any given moment.
“She started as a young minister and just kind of fell in love with ministry,” Hall said. “She was not only an elder, but also the youth coordinator of our ministry. She loved helping young people.”
