Pastor’s Daughter Slain While Promoting Revival
A woman high on drugs struck and killed a pastor’s daughter who was handing out information on her stepfather’s church.
Sixteen-year-old Caelyn Olds died from her injuries in an Atlanta-area hospital over the weekend.
“Our dear friends Nick and Casie Adams (pastors of Middle Fayette Church of Christ) and their family have experienced a painful tragedy that no parent should ever have to go through. On Saturday, October 8, 2016, their daughter Caelyn was killed by a driver under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The family will have numerous expenses including burial, funeral and court costs. Please consider helping this family by relieving any financial burden that may arise,” according to a crowdfunding site.
The woman who struck Olds, as well as a 60-year-old woman who survived, was high on prescription painkillers, police said.
Prayers poured in for the family through the YouCaring page, as well as Pastor Nicholas Adams’ Facebook page.
“(We) are deeply heartbroken for the loss of such a precious young lady. Our prayer is for the peace and love of Jesus to wrap His merciful arms around her father Jonathan, Casie, you and the children. Proverbs states there is a time to be born and a time to die and though this all seems senseless to all of us…. God in His infinite wisdom is still in control and very much still a good God. We send condolences,” one person shared.
Another wrote: “You have been in my prayers daily. I pray you find comfort knowing you will see Caelyn again.”
