Pastor’s Three Daughters Killed in Horrific Wreck
A head-on collision claimed the lives of three young women, all the daughters of a Florida pastor.
The Welch sisters were returning from a church conference when a pickup hit their car.
“It hurts my heart today to see that I have lost three of my daughters at one time,” their father, Ricardo Welch, tells The St. Petersburg Tribune. Welch is the pastor at Prayer Tower Church of God in Christ. “But even in all of this tragedy I still trust that God is God and His strength is what holds me up.”
Twenty-nine year-old Lemour Welch, along with her sisters, India, 24, and Tehira, 18, were all renowned church singers.
Their cousin, Pinellas Commissioner Ken Welch, told WFLA that the three were all talking about how grateful they were to be Christians when they were killed.
“It is unimaginable. I can’t express words. Anyone knows me, I love my girls,” Ricardo said, according to the Tampa Bay Times. “To lose my daughters in this fashion has caused a rip in my heart that can’t be explained.”
Please lift the Welch family up in your prayers.
