That’s 189 children who now have the chance to blossom into kingdom influencers, world changers and culture cultivators.
All because a team of dedicated sons and daughters of the King spent the last 3 weeks in 567 cities across America witnessing to the hurt, broken and desperate women who believed abortion was their only option.
From Feb. 17 to March 28 this biannual campaign for life encourages pro-lifers to pray, fast and host peaceful vigils outside abortion clinics worldwide. Even in the midst of sparking controversy, this year’s vigil has rallied the largest turnout of volunteers the organization has seen yet.
According to its website, since 40 Days for Life’s founding in 2007, the nonprofit has seen over 18,000 lives saved,109 abortion centers closed and 211 abortion workers quit their jobs.
The momentum is growing.
At a prayer event in Riverside, California, two women were outraged over the presence of the pro-life advocates offering prayer and encouragement. But after visiting the Planned Parenthood, they returned to the volunteers and told them the mother had decided against abortion, and the prayer warriors were able to direct her to a pregnancy center for more resources.
“Thank God we were there at that hour to assist this woman in crisis,” said one of the vigil participants. “God was so merciful to touch her heart and direct it in the opposite direction!”
Volunteers witnessed the fruition of past efforts when one woman came to a site in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Four years prior, she had come to a Planned Parenthood to abort her daughter. The father had left, and she was desperate. Now, she uses her testimony to encourage others in similar situations.
“I saw you guys standing out here, and I chose life instead,” she continued. “Now, I’m married with four children. What y’all do out here makes a difference!”
The stories are endless. The impact is far-reaching. God is moving and directs the steps of all those who come in contact with the 40 Days for Life teams.
Read the countless miracle stories of lives turned around on the 40 Days for Life blog, and remember the power of God to move the mountain of abortion:
One grandmother came to a Washington church event, showed the volunteers a photo of her 2-year-old granddaughter and said: “Prayer is never in vain,” insisting her granddaughter was only alive today because of their prayers. {eoa}
