Robert Morris Rushed Into Emergency Surgery Overnight; Gateway Launches Hourly Prayer Campaign
Gateway Church Founder and Pastor developed more internal bleeding overnight and was rushed into surgery again.
“Good Morning praying friends! @psrobertmorris had a good night. His blood pressure is stable and his vitals are looking positive. While he still has pain, we are encouraged,” Robert’s wife, Debbie, posted to Instagram. “But please keep praying for no infection, no or less pain, and continued progress. My heart is so grateful for people all over the world who paused their lives to pray for us. Our Gateway family has blessed us with their care and love. The greatest outpouring of love has been the prayers. Again, thank you!”
“Sweet friends” formed a fire tunnel to pray and prophesy over the charismatic leader as nurses wheeled him into the operating room Monday night.
Morris underwent a routine procedure last Monday with no immediate complications. However, on Sunday, he experienced incredible pressure in his abdomen, and emergency workers airlifted him to a hospital. Doctors discovered the pastor had internal bleeding they were able to staunch. An angiogram mid-morning Monday revealed the bleeding was gone. Yet, by Monday night, the bleeding returned, and Morris was rushed into surgery once more.
Gateway Church launched a 24/7 social media prayer campaign where intercessors could comment when and how they were praying. The church’s Southlake Campus also opened so the community could join together in prayer for the pastor.
