Spiritual Leaders Make National Prayer Call for Trump

Donald Trump arrestWhen Donald Trump was elected to the presidency of the United States in 2016, many conservative Christians saw it, as Stephen Strang said in his book, “God and Donald Trump,” as a “cultural-revolution and an answer to prayer.”

For those who are still supporting Trump after a rather tumultuous four-year stint as U.S. President and subsequent events over the past three years, they might want to get on their knees in prayer for him once again.

On Tuesday, Trump made history as the first U.S. President, former or sitting, to have criminal charges brought against him. He was indicted last week and arraigned in a Manhattan criminal court yesterday, with 34 felony counts brought against him by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.

Evangelist Franklin Graham acknowledges that only One can save this country, and it’s not Trump. It’s Jesus Christ. And although as a country we’ve turned our back on Him, Graham says his prayers for Trump won’t stop.

“I’m going to keep praying that God will intervene and save this nation so we will continue to be that beacon of hope for this very dark world,” Graham posted on Facebook. “Under our nation’s Constitution, you and I are innocent of a crime unless and until we are proven guilty. This fundamental right applies to every American—from the immigrant who becomes a newly naturalized citizen, to those who have served in the highest office of the land. And our process of justice is intended to operate independent of partisan political calculation. Partisan political calculation, however, appears to be precisely the motivation behind the indictment of former President Donald J. Trump in a Manhattan courtroom.

“It’s saddening to see what left-wing politicians are doing to our country. Be sure, though, that the Judge of all the earth [Almighty God] will do what is just (Gen. 18:25). Before Him, each and every one of us is a sinner deserving death. That’s why this is the moment to make sure that, when the Judge examines your life, you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection for the forgiveness of your sins.”

Trump returned to his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida just hours after his arraignment, telling his supporters he “never thought anything like this could happen in America.”

He has continually maintained his innocence. He is the only president in United States history to be impeached and acquitted twice. He also detailed a number of other investigations that clouded his administration.

“The only crime that I have committed is to fearlessly defend our nation from those who seek to destroy it,” Trump said. “A local failed district attorney charging a former President of the United States for the first time in history on a basis that ever single pundit and legal analyst said there is no case—there’s no case. But it’s far worse than that because he knew there was no case.

“This fake case was brought only to interfere with the upcoming 2024 election and it should be dropped immediately.”

March CM CoverAnd Trump’s supporters should continue to adamantly pray for the former president and that God’s justice be done in this “criminal case.” The Detroit News reported that more than 40 of Trump’s supporters gathered in front of Warren City Hall in Michigan for a prayer rally on Tuesday.

A Tulsa Church, Sheridan.Church, hosted a National Prayer Call earlier this week for Trump. Pastor Jackson Lahmeyer was joined by former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani on the live stream broadcast. {eoa}
