TBN Founder’s Son Fired by Word Network
Paul Crouch Jr., son of TBN Founder Paul Crouch Sr., was fired from The Word Network recently.
Kevin Adell, founder and CEO of the Word Network, said in a statement, “I do not tolerate misconduct and it is handled swiftly in my organization.”
Crouch told Charisma News he had no ill will and tried to clarify the situation.
“I’ve worked with the Word Network happily, and I thank Kevin for the past four years of our relationship and of helping him build the studio and network and make it better,” Crouch said. “One of the things I did for The Word was produce what we called product giveaway spots or ‘love gift’ spots. I’ve been producing those spots for the last four years. The issue became that I produced a spot on my own time, with my own equipment, for another Christian network. When Kevin found out, he was not happy. He called it a conflict of interest, and we parted ways.
“I have no ill will. I love the Word Network, and I love the four years I was there. We’re both choosing to go our own directions and pursue other ventures, and that’s really the bottom line. What I perceived as doing for another Christian broadcaster as a tithe unto their ministry, he perceived as a conflict of interest. He has the right to do that, and I respect it.”
Crouch Jr. previously left TBN in 2011, where “a memo was circulated … at the network advising people he is leaving,” according to CBN.
Adell founded The Word Network in 2000.
