The King’s University has installed its fifth president.

Steve Riggle, president of Grace International Ministries, which oversees 2,400 churches around the world, was installed during a commencement ceremony on Sunday.

Jack Hayford, The King’s University’s founder and chancellor, and Robert Morris, chairman of The King’s Board of Trustees and pastor of the Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas, led the installation ceremony.

“I feel great peace and confidence as Steve moves into the presidency,” Hayford said at the ceremony. “The board and I and all that know his gifting, character, lifestyle, and fruitfulness acknowledge the grace of God on his leadership. We have sought the Lord; He has spoken and confirmed His will. We are rejoicing in the future that this development is opening to us.”

Riggle is a charter member of The King’s University Board of Trustees since its founding in 1997, and is a member of the Trustees’ Executive Committee. He holds an earned Doctor of Ministry degree from the institution.

Riggle and his wife, Becky, founded Grace Community Church in Houston in 1983 with 12 people. Today the church is a thriving congregation of more than 15,000 active members located on four campuses.

Riggle assumes his duties at The King’s University August 1, 2012.

The King’s University is the only accredited Pentecostal/charismatic postsecondary institution in Los Angeles. The King’s Seminary is the only accredited Pentecostal/charismatic seminary on the West Coast of North America. As Los Angeles, with its 10.3 million residents countywide, is the West Coast gateway to America, so The King’s has been called to be a gateway for the transition and equipping of men and women called by Father God into servant leadership and Kingdom building.
