These 21 Seconds Can Dramatically Transform Your Prayer Life

Share:

It takes approximately 21 seconds to pray the Lord’s Prayer. That one prayer, former pastor, educator, businessman and New York Times‘ best-selling author Dr. Mark Rutland says, includes every real need of human life.

Rutland challenges believers not only to incorporate the Lord’s Prayer into their daily agenda, but to understand its transforming power when they are discouraged and need God’s presence most.

“In 21 seconds, basically, you can pray about everything life can hand you when you pray this simple prayer,” Rutland told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of “Greenelines” on the Charisma Podcast Network. “Every need, every fear, every thought is covered.

“I began praying it years ago during a very difficult time in my life. I was just struggling, and it began to surface in my life. I started praying it not once, twice, three times or even five times, but dozens and dozens of times a day over and over again. And if you think it might begin to get rote by reciting it so many times, think of this: How much better to repeat something that powerful than to repeat a lot of the other things we do. It’s biblical authority.”
