Trespassers Attack Hagee’s Israel Message During Sunday Service
Several individuals attempted to disrupt worship services at Cornerstone Church on Sunday by shouting during Pastor John Hagee’s sermon discussing the moral imperative of standing with the Jewish State of Israel.
Hagee repeatedly told the disrupters to “sit down.” John Hagee Ministries (JHM) security officers escorted the individuals from the sanctuary and contacted the San Antonio Police Department.
Subsequently, 11 criminal trespass warnings were issued. Further legal and security measures will be taken as the situation warrants.
In a letter discussing the event Hagee sent to pro-Israel radio and television host Glenn Beck, Hagee concluded: “We support Israel because Israel has the right to exist!… Israel has the right to defined and defensible borders. Israel has the right to defend itself from any nation or group of people that attack them. To all Bible believers, let us unite to stand up and speak up for the State of Israel.”
“Each and every time Israel’s supporters see such disruptions, we are reminded of the hypocrisy of those who claim to support free speech, but seek to deny others the opportunity to express their views,” notes David Brog, executive director of Christians United for Israel (CUFI). “Of course Israel’s not perfect. And of course reasonable people can debate Israeli policy. But to disrupt a Christian worship service to slander Israel with accusations of apartheid and genocide is the height of intolerance.”
