Turning From Charismatics, MacArthur Attacks ‘Satan’s Church’
John MacArthur, best known in recent years for his strong words against the Pentecostal and charismatic movements, is making headlines again. The author of Strange Fire is now calling out “Satan’s Church.”
MacArthur’s name-calling comes in the wake of denominations embracing gay marriage that I wrote about in my article “Apostasy Rising: 4 Denominations in Less Than a Week Defy God’s Word.”
“They have no allegiance to the Bible,” MacArthur told The Blaze. “You go back to every one of those seminaries … for a century [they] have been deniers of biblical authority, they have no relationship to scripture, they are the apostate church, they are Satan’s church.”
Considering MacArthur’s attacks on charismatics and manifestations of the Holy Spirit, is this just one more vicious assault on the bride of Christ? Or, despite the heavy-handled label, does he have a point about denominations that are turning away from what the Bible says about homosexuality? Sound off.
