Twitter Unblocks IStandWithPhil.com, Apologizes for Error
Twitter briefly blocked users from tweeting IStandWithPhil.com Monday. The social media site has restored access to tweets about the high-profile petition drive in support of Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson, explaining that the URL had been mistakenly flagged as spam.
“We have restored access and apologize for the error,” a Twitter spokesperson told FOX411.
IStandWithPhil.com, a project of Faith Driven Consumer—an organization connecting Christian consumers with faith-compatible companies—is an online petition drive calling for tolerance, fairness and respect for differing viewpoints in America’s rainbow of diversity.
“While we have not yet received a response or apology directly from Twitter, the social networking site clearly heard from nearly 250,000 Faith Driven Consumers who, in recent days, have joined the surging IStandWithPhil.com petition drive calling for Phil Robertson’s reinstatement to A&E’s No. 1 cable show Duck Dynasty,” Faith Driven Consumer spokesperson Matthew Faraci said.
The petition, which aims to get 250,000 signatures, had just over 246,000 as of Thursday afternoon.
