Update: NYC Professor Fired After Tirade, Threatening Reporter with Machete
An adjunct professor has been fired by a New York City college after she was caught on video earlier this month for berating pro-life students and also threatening the life of a New York Post reporter earlier this week.
Fox5 New York reported Wednesday that Hunter College terminated Shellyne Rodriguez when a video recorded went viral showing her in a profanity-laced tirade against the pro-life students from Students for Life of America, and then vandalizing their table.
But worse than that, New York Post reporter Reuven Fenton told Fox News that he was threatened with a machete to his neck by Rodriguez when he knocked on here Bronx apartment door. He asked for an interview with Rodriguez and was threatened with bodily violence.
In an appearance on Fox Tuesday night, Fenton told Sean Hannity that he identified himself, but she opened the door and verbally abused Fenton and his cameraman, threatening to “chop them up.” Fox reported that she then “barged out of her apartment and put a machete to Fenton’s neck.”
City police have made no arrests but are “investigating Tuesday’s events,” Fox5 New York reported.
Hunter College spokesperson Vince DiMicelli told Fox5 New York that “Hunter College strongly condemns the unacceptable actions of Shellyne Rodriguez and has taken immediate action. Rodriguez has been relieved of her duties at Hunter College effective immediately and will not be returning to teach at the school.”
Earlier this month, Rodriguez used strong profanity to berate the pro-life students from Students for Life of America, a national group opposing abortion, at their information display and told them that they were “triggering” her students. {eoa}
