Author Jennifer Rothschild wasn’t born blind, but when she was 15, her vision blurred out completely.

The degenerative diseases deteriorated her retinas, “Until all the light I once saw was darkness.”

But now, the author says, blindness has introduced her to herself.

Rothschild was recently featured on the Today show with Hoda Kotb and Kathy Lee Gifford for her recent book, Invisible.

While many might be angry at God when He let their sight go, Rothschild says she chose a forward perspective.

“Thanks to just my parents’ influence and the influence of my faith that I (had), my first response wasn’t ‘This is unfair’ or ‘Why me?’ or being mad, but ‘OK, here we go. Now what are we going to do?'”

Rothschild says her faith solidified through the disease. Take a look!
