What Happened When Coworkers Found Out This Single Dad Walked 11 Miles to Work Every Day
Single dad Trenton Lewis isn’t one for excuses. It’s why his colleagues bought him a car when they found out just how hard he was working.
So every morning, he awoke before the sun and walked 11 miles to work at United Parcel Service. His 14-month-old daughter needs him, Lewis says, and he refused to let her down.
“I made it to work. I was never late,” Lewis said. “Doing this for my daughter, that’s all,” Lewis says.
It’s that grit and determination that inspired his coworkers to pitch in and buy Lewis a car.
“That’s a young man that wants to work and will do whatever it takes to be successful,” colleague Kenneth Bryant says.
The group raised $2000 and purchased Lewis a 2006 Saturn Ion.
“God always has something for you,” Lewis says. “I’m never going to forget this, ever.”
