When 370 Churches From 13 Denominations United for Move of God

In 2013, an unprecedented citywide movement took place in Austin, Texas. Three hundred-seventy churches from 13 denominations came together to invite the Greater Austin area to “Explore God” and engage in spiritual conversations. The results were unexpected. There was an average 10% increase in church attendance, thousands of discussion groups meeting throughout the city and hundreds of thousands of spiritual conversations initiated by Christians using Explore God resources.

Movement Day Greater Dallas (MDGD) is conducting its second annual collaborative gathering of Christian leaders on Jan. 22, 2015, and is playing an important role in introducing Explore God to city leaders. In addition to conducting an interactive track for the second consecutive year at Movement Day in New York City, hosted by The New York City Leadership Center, an upcoming Explore God-DFW Community Outreach Initiative is emerging from Movement Day Greater Dallas. Leaders attending the Explore God interactive track in Dallas this past January were instrumental in turning the idea of a DFW Initiative into a reality.

In capitalizing on the momentum already underway, leaders from Explore God will conduct an interactive track again this year at the Dallas gathering. The track will lead attendees in discovering how to engage individuals around the world in spiritual discussions, utilizing state-of-the-art, evangelistic resources that address both the issues of modern culture and the questions people have surrounding God.

Explore God’s relationship with MDGD is built on the common mission to unite and strengthen the church and mobilize Christians to live on-mission 24/7. “As we work to train and equip Christians to engage their communities in deep, meaningful spiritual conversations, it’s great to have a partner like Movement Day who is connecting us to other like-minded Christian organizations throughout the country,” states Austin Farmer, director of marketing with Explore God.

In discussing their partnership with MDGD, Farmer says, “We have the potential to engage millions of people in spiritual conversations about God, Jesus and the Bible. Our prayer is that God continues to unite the church in cities nationwide and even worldwide so that Christians can come together—regardless of denomination—to fulfill the Great Commission and start sharing their faith with others. We’re thrilled to be able to play a part in making that goal a reality.”
