Today marks history as Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost became Pope Leo XIV.

Leo XIV is the first ever American Pope, though he has spent much of his time in Peru and is a dual citizen of both nations. As the 267th Pope, he now holds a title that will undoubtedly have a major impact on people across the globe.

Taking to social media, President Donald Trump congratulated Leo XIV on this historic accomplishment.
