Biblical Defense: Israel ‘Will Attack Tehran’ If Iran Develops Nuclear Weapons
Read time: 3 minutes 2 seconds
Since the restoration of Israel in 1948, the nation has been under constant physical and spiritual attack.
These attacks have occurred against the Hebrew people for far longer than the nation of Israel has been reestablished, and because of this warfare they have learned to fight in their defense.
With the possibility of the Iran Deal being brought back by the Biden administration, Israel again finds itself confronted by an enemy who wants to wipe it off the face of the earth.
Iran has said time and again the United States and Israel are of the devil and must be eliminated. Their goal is to destroy all of Israel, and the Israeli’s know this. That is why they have developed some of the world’s most technologically advanced defense systems, like the “Iron Dome” to protect their people during the relentless onslaught against Islamic forces.
Former mayor of Jerusalem and current Knesset member, Nir Barkat, told Fox News Digital that Israel is able and willing to defend itself against a nuclear-powered Iran:
“Iran is an Islamic regime that wants to wipe Israel off the map. We are perceived the ‘small Satan,’ and, by the way, the United States is the ‘large Satan.’ We’re in the same line,” Barkat says. “And you don’t negotiate any deal with someone who wants to wipe you off the map. There’s no point in any deal.
“They plan to create a bomb in order to use it,” he claimed. “And we must stop them. They will use it if they have it.”
Barkat continued, “We have to make sure that Iran understands that if they try to gain nuclear power, we will stop them by force, and hopefully that will deter them. And if and when they use their proxies to attack Israel, it’s not going to be the third Lebanese war, it will be the first Iran war, and we will attack Tehran.”
His words are backed up by history in Israel’s dedication to deterring a nuclear Iran. During 1981’s “Operation Opera,” also known as “Operation Babylon,” an Israeli Air Force airstrike neutralized the unfinished Iranian Osirak reactor complex. Barkat’s resolve shows Israel’s commitment to preventing a nuclear Iran remains steadfast 40 years later.
The relationship between Israel and the U.S. seems to shift based on whoever is president at the time. Under Donald Trump and George W. Bush, Israel and the U.S. were united in purpose over the defense of the nation of Israel.
That relationship soured when presidents Obama and Biden took over. The Obama administration was in power while then U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry helped negotiate the Iran Deal, and it bears his signature with seven other world leaders.
Barkat believes Israel must remain vigilant in deterring a nuclear capable Iran that wants Israel destroyed:
“Israel has to prepare itself for war with Iran, and the best way to not have a war is to plan on attacking if we need to,” Barkat said. “So hopefully, our preparation and the alignment with the United States will deter Iran from their evil plan. However, if they’re not, we will have to use force.”
This sentiment has been justified in the past, as when President Trump withdrew from the former Iran Deal and the IDF reported Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Qud forces began launching rocket attacks against Israeli military targets from Syria.
Yet through all of the violence, conflict and lies directed at Israel, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob has kept the nation safe and that will not change going forward into the future. {eoa}
