Bono and Eugene Peterson Team Up For Film About Psalms
Popular singer and U2 lead vocalist Bono has teamed up with Eugene Peterson to make a film about the book of Psalms.
The documentary-styled film is set to be released online April 26. It will feature Bono and Peterson, who have shared a bond over the book for the past 15 years.
The project was shot in Peterson’s home state of Montana and chronicles their conversation on the 150 Psalms in the Bible.
Peterson is known for his work of creating the popular The Message Bible, a popular modern version of the scripture. However, it was his book Run with the Horses that got Bono’s attention, reports Fourth Line, a blog by the film’s director Nate Clark. From that time on, the two have shared correspondences and extended conversations.
The 20-minute film looks at how the book of Psalms has been a basis for Bono and Peterson’s long-time friendship as well as how they influence Bono’s writing for his music in U2.
