Government Invests in Freezing Eggs of Transexuals Before Gender Reassignment
England’s National Health Service is now freezing eggs for transgender men before they complete sex-reassignment surgery, according to multiple reports.
The Daily Mail reports NHS spends up to 34,000 pounds per person on these treatments, with teen Rebecca Middlemore, who now goes by Riley, as a prime example.
Middlemore wants to freeze her eggs before she completely transitions and wants her partner to carry the child as a surrogate.
“I want to get married one day,” Middlemore says. “I’ve always wanted a family and I love children. My partner would be the surrogate and carry my eggs. That way I can have children that are biologically mine with my partner.”
The NHS even has multiple transgender health services clinics across the country.
The Telegragh reports:
Dr. James Barrett, of the NHS Gender Identity Clinic in West London, said three of his patients who have transitioned from women to men were close to becoming parents.
He said that in the last year, he had asked GPs to refer about 50 of his female-to-male patients to have eggs frozen, and about 100 of his male-to-female patients to have sperm frozen.
“As a matter of principle, anybody who loses their fertility as a result of standard NHS treatment should be able to preserve their fertility,” he said.
Christian commentator Michael Brown addressed the transanity issue in a recent column.
“With all respect to the suffering of transgender men and women, the fact remains that the vast majority of human beings are biologically and chromosomally male or female, as marked by the presence of male or female genitalia, and it is the females of the human species who have been created to be mothers,” he writes.
