It took just 90 seconds to bring Haiti to the brink of destruction. One year later, the Caribbean island still struggles to rebuild itself after a Jan. 12, magnitude-7 earthquake left at least 230,000 people dead and almost 2 million homeless, along with an estimated $14 billion in structural damage. While experts say it could take up to 20 years to repair the nation’s infrastructure, Christians are offering a different message — one of hope and healing.
