Acceleration is a key word for 2016.

A Prophetic Word for Acceleration, Recovery and the Double Portion

Share:

For more than a half-year now, my wife and I have been seeing the numbers 11-11 everywhere—whether it’s the timing on the oven, alarm clock on our iPhones, on the walls in the hallway or in the most unexpected places. The Holy Spirit was arresting our attention, and we knew He was prophetically speaking to us.

As I leaned in to the significance and implications of 11-11, I felt the Lord began to speak to me these words:  acceleration, recovery and double Portion.

Acceleration

Then Elijah said to Ahab, ‘Get up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of a heavy rainfall.’ Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’ Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain. So Ahab rode away and went to Jezreel. Then the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel” (1 Kings 18:41, 44-46, MEV).

Elijah had prophesied about a drought in 1 Kings 17. After nearly three years of drought, He prophesied the coming of rain. Drought is a picture of a dry season, lack, barrenness and inactivity. But now there’s a “sound of the abundance of rain.” Elijah told King Ahab to prepare the chariots and get moving to Jezreel.

So in the natural, Ahab got on his chariots and headed for Jezreel. But in the supernatural, “the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.” Elijah was divinely empowered by the  hand of the Lord to outrun Ahab’s chariot from Carmel to Jezreel, a distance of approximately 25 miles. Here, Elijah was supernaturally strengthened by the Spirit of God to do a miraculous feat, something that surpassed what he could have done in the natural.

In this year and in this season, I hear the “great sound of the abundance of rain.” There is great acceleration in the atmosphere. Great manifestation is always preceded by a great acceleration, gaining momentum to materialization. A recognized prophet friend of mine said to me three years ago, “Cornelius, there is great acceleration coming. What usually takes five years to accomplish you’re going to see happen in a year!” I have seen great momentum and acceleration in my life since then and especially in the last two years.

I believe as people of God, we are primed to see great momentum and acceleration in the things of God. I believe great doors of favor are opening for many people. You will find yourself in the right place, in the right time, meeting the right people, doing the right things, walking through the right doors, prospering in the right opportunities. I especially see great momentum in the areas of business, relationships and family reconciliation. We are also going to see a great harvest of souls with an increase in signs, wonders and miracles in many cities, but God is highlighting Hollywood.

Declare with me:

  • I will see great acceleration in my life!
  • Things that will take a long time to accomplish I will see happen in a moment!
  • The blessings and favor of God will overtake me!
  • I will be at the right place, at the right time, meeting the right people, doing the right things I’m supposed to do!
  • I will witness a great harvest of souls!

Recovery

In 1 Samuel 30, David and his household had been raided by the Amalekites.

1 Samuel 30:3-8, 18-19 (MEV) says:

David and his men came to the city, and they found it burned with fire, and their wives, their sons, and their daughters taken captive. So David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept until they had no strength in them to weep. Now David’s two wives were taken captive, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite. David was greatly distressed, for the people talked of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in spirit, each over his sons and daughters. But David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. And David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelek, ‘Please bring the ephod to me.’ So Abiathar brought the ephod to David. David inquired at the Lord, saying, ‘Should I pursue after this raiding party? Will I overtake them?’

“And He answered him, ‘Pursue them, for you will surely overtake them and will surely recover all … ‘”

“David got back everything the Amalekites had taken, and he rescued his two wives. Nothing was missing: small or great, son or daughter, nor anything else that had been taken. David brought everything back. He also recovered all the flocks and herds, and his men drove them ahead of the other livestock. ‘This plunder belongs to David!’ they said.”

Many years ago, I was complaining to the Lord, “Many of my friends are doing so well, they are well-advanced in their careers, own beautiful houses, have great families, are taking vacations … and here I am … a poor missionary trying to serve and follow Your will. Lord, if I wasn’t called to the ministry, I bet I’d be more successful than my friends!” Well, I was wallowing in self-pity, green with envy and stuck in jealousy.

And then came the gentle but firm rebuke from the Lord, “Son, you had better get that poverty mindset out of your system. That stinking thinking will rob you of the inheritance I have for you. Whatever you think you have ‘lost’ in following my call on your life: time, opportunities, money, houses, vacations, favor … I’m about to recover them all in your life. I am returning them to you, and more!”

Then the threshing floors will be filled with grain, and the vats will overflow with new wine and oil. And I will compensate you for the years the locusts have eaten— the larval locust, the hopper locust, and the fledging locust—My great army which I sent against you. You will eat abundantly and be satisfied, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has worked wonders for you; and My people will never again be shamed(Joel 2:24-26, MEV).

If you think you’ve “lost” a great deal because of your decision to follow the Lord, the Lord is your Restorer, Redeemer and Rewarder. He’s getting ready to recover all things lost. God’s economy works quite differently from the world’s economy.

The world is motivated by taking; the kingdom of God is rewarded by obeying and giving. I see the Lord performing great miracles in restoring health, inheritances, family relationships that have gone sour, jobs and careers being given back to you, unexpected gifts and surprises.

“Then Peter began to speak up. ‘We’ve given up everything to follow you,’ he said.

“‘Yes,’ Jesus replied, ‘and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, will receive now in return a hundred times as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property…'”

Declare with me:

  • I will recover everything that I have lost!
  • Whatever the enemy has stolen from me, the Lord is getting ready to restore and recover them!
  • Every seed that I have sown, the Lord is bringing a reward and a harvest to me!

Double Portion

Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, and instead of humiliation they shall rejoice over their portion. Therefore, in their land they shall possess a double portion; everlasting joy shall be theirs” (Is. 61:7, MEV).

For more than a half-year now, my wife, Tiffany, and I have been declaring this over our season:

“This is a season of acceleration, recovery, 11-11, double portion!”

Feb. 9, 2016 was a monumental day for us. We had sensed great momentum in our declarations and that something was shifting in our lives. Tiffany and I had been ordained before when we were both single. That evening, we were getting ready to be commissioned by Pastors Bill Johnson and Kris Valloton and Bethel Church as a couple, as one. It was a new season for us, and we knew a double portion was about to be released over our lives.

That morning I had gone to the gas station to fill up gas. I sat back in the car and waited for it to fill up. When I walked back out, I saw that the price on the meter was $22.00 flat! My first thought was, “What are the chances of it being $22.00 flat, or any amount flat for that matter!” Then I felt the Holy Spirit whisper to me, “It is the year of the double portion, 11-11, 22, get ready, something is shifting, everything is going to double! I am confirming this over your life!”

I see someone scoring a business deal, and it’s exactly double what you’ve made in recent times. I also see someone reading this article and you haven’t been able to conceive, and I see you having two kids!

Declare with me:

  • This is the year of the double portion!
  • Double my inheritance!
  • Release the promises, the breakthroughs, the unexpected, the suddenlies over my life!

This article is what the Holy Spirit wants me to release prophetically. There is power in our declarations. The prophetic is such that it is first declared in the spirit, and then it manifests in the natural. We are a blessed people. We are blessed simply He is a good Father. We are blessed not so that we can be self-indulgent. We are blessed so that we can be a greater blessing.

A note in closing: I had mentioned that God is highlighting Hollywood. As we are approaching TheCall Azusa Now on April 9, the 110th anniversary of the Azusa Revival, the spotlight is on Los Angeles. It is recorded that when Los Angeles was founded in 1781, the original settlers were 11 men, 11, women and 22 children.

There’s major prophetic significance for this city, and we will be seeing the rippling effects of this in the coming days. There is going to be a significant and marked increase and influx of Spirit-filled creative artistes into Hollywood. If you are called to Hollywood and Los Angeles, get ready because doors are getting ready to be opened to you.

Keep your faith and expectation high. May you experience great acceleration, recovery, and the double portion in this season! Can’t wait to hear the testimonies!
