Join Me in Participating in ‘My Hope’ With Billy Graham
In the next few days, the Billy Graham organization is involving several hundred thousand Christians around the country in what they believe is the biggest evangelistic thrust of the famous evangelist’s career. You’ll be seeing a lot in the media as well as programs aired on national TV. Here is a link to a list of stations so you can view it in your area.
It’s called “My Hope With Billy Graham,” and there is a powerful video accompanying it. The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is encouraging people to invite friends into their homes to participate. It has presented this program for 11 years in 57 countries, resulting in an estimated 10 million decisions for Christ.
In the November of issue of Charisma, I’ve encouraged our readers to participate, and I’ve encouraged our staff and even my own pastor.
On Thursday night, I’m participating myself by inviting some neighbors and friends into my home. I have been thinking of ways I can reach out to some of my neighbors to share the Good News of Jesus. This gives me the perfect chance. I’ve been pleased that everyone I’ve invited has said either yes or probably yes (two couples said they needed to check their schedules).
I was unprepared for this kind of response. I was braced that people would actually turn me down, and I wondered if they would be offended. I believe this proves people are more open to the gospel and hungrier for Jesus than we’re led to believe in the popular culture.
I told them I’m inviting some friends to my home for a few refreshments and to watch a video by Billy Graham. That’s all I say. I figure they should know it’s going to have to do with receiving Jesus.
My good friend Dr. Jim Guth is the regional director for my area, and he provided me with a link for videos they show in churches that really explain the story much better than I can here. If you have time to watch the videos, they will explain exactly what to do.
Also, watch the 30-minute presentation that tells three powerful stories of lives that were transformed by Jesus. This is what’s going to air on national television, and this what I’m going to show in my home next week.
And here is a link where you can get online training for the event, including a link to order the materials that contain four study lessons based on verses from the Gospel of John and other books from the Bible.
Please take time to participate. We’re all busy, but what could be more important than sharing the love of Jesus Christ with others? And what could be easier than partnering with the greatest evangelist of our time, who has provided wonderful materials and a proven program?
Please forward this on social media, talk it up among your friends and leave your comments—especially if you plan on participating or if you’re motivated by what I’ve written.
